I just wanted to let everyone know, while reading what I got out of my daily Bible readings, if there is ever anything you disagree with, or think I interpretted wrong, please let me know. I don't want to mislead anyone away from what the word is actually teaching, and I will glady admit that I made a mistake if you point it out to me. We are all growing together.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
I heard a great message in our Sunday service that had some of the same elements as this scripture.
There are too many of the people of God out there who are forgetting where they came from. They are beginning to pat themselves on the back and building up their pride. This is where the "holier than thou" comes in.
The truth of the matter is, putting your faith in Jesus Christ is nothing like that at all. Becoming a Christian is leaving denial. We embrace the fact that we are weak and are in need of a savior. We accept that we can do nothing and can amount to nothing without Him in our lives. As the song says, "I can't even walk without you holding my hand."
It's time that we stop taking the credit for what God has done. Do all things in the name of Jesus giving Him thanks. Be thankful for what He is doing for you. Don't hold your head high in pride having everyone pat you on the back, but instead, shout out, "Look what the Lord has done for me!"
