| After much talk with a fellow member of the forum, we have decided that the first ministry opportunity to offer the other members of the forum would be to help cheer up the Christmas season for some people.
Our plan is to go caroling on December 20th which is the Saturday before Christmas. If the house we are caroling at has children 10 or younger, we can offer them a toy from our bag of donations.
If we are to do this, we will need a lot of help. We will need donated used toys. Please make sure they are in acceptable condition. A few scratches won't be an issue, but broken toys aren't usable. I will talk to a church and see if we can store donated toys there. If you would like to hold onto the toys you are donating and wrap them yourselves, feel free, but please let me know how much you are donating via private message.
Otherwise, we will need volunteers to wrap up the other toys and supply wrapping paper.
Lastly, I would like to know who would be willing to go out singing with the other members of the forum. Friends and family can get involved also.
Please remember that the goal of this is to not promote a church, but promote Jesus. We may be asked why we are doing this, and we can reply by saying we just want to show the love of Jesus during this holiday season.
If you are interested in participating in this, please post a reply.

| It is planned to Carol on Hope and Spruce St in Hannibal because it is a poorer neighborhood (not saying everyone there is poor) starting at 6pm. I'm going to call the Juvinile Center early tomorrow to see if we can use their parking spot to park our vehicles while we go out to carol because it is nearest the area.
If you are unable to go out and carol, please consider donating or wrapping toys.

| We've had a church volunteer to be a part of this. Three others from online said they'd come. A couple of my family members are going to be involve. If she is still interested, a member of this board is going to be involved.
I need to start collecting the toys. If you have toys you would like to donate, please let me know so I can tell you where to take them.

| Fresh Fire Ministries in the old St Elizabeth hospital has -FLAG- offered to allow us to use their storage shed to store our toys until the event. A few more people have volunteered to donate toys to the event.
Thanks to everyone who is making this happen!

| The caroling has been postponed until Tuesday. It was too cold Saturday night and Tuesday is supposed to be warmer. I have most of the gifts wrapped and ready. Pray that this goes well. | |

| I wont be online until late tonight to make my rounds on here because ths carolling event will take up most of today because there are more toys to wrap and a pile of people to call to RSVP with. But I will read my Bible and try to get something posted tonight, make my replies, and tell you guys how the event went!
I do plan on having more events that people can participate in. I just have to think a little on them first.
I might wait until it starts thawing out, so maybe mid February for the next one.

| well pooh... The event is cancelled.
There was lack of participation. We didn't mind singing by ourselves, but all the people who said they would donate toys, and there were a lot of them, didn't donate. We went in to wrap the toys and found a single bag with musty toys with crust all over them. You just don't hand those out to people when you are trying to portray the love of Christ. Jesus love is refreshed and new, not crusty and musty.
We were going to head to the store to buy some stuffed animals but it got icey. With no toys, the event lost it's point. We would have just looked like average carolers and the people wouldn't have seen the love of Jesus in the event,
It's disappointing, but maybe next time it will work out.

| Joseph, I'm sure the weather played a big part in this. I know it did from my end. I still have all the things I was going to donate, I just couldn't get out to buy more things and to get them down there. Being sick put me behind, too. Don't be discouraged. You tried really hard and God knows your heart. | |
